We sell under multiple brands, including our flagship retail brand Designers Fountain (www.designersfountain.com), and have been a leader in the lighting industry, focusing on technology, innovation and design. We currently have an opening for a Financial Analyst to assist our Controller.Job Responsibilities & Duties
Assist in creation, reconciliation, analysis, and distribution of sales and margin reports by sales channel and product categories to management and key partners.
Prepare various monthly reports, conduct detailed analysis, and report results in a timely manner.
Responsible for the creation, consolidation, and maintenance of the business plan and forecasts models and partner closely with other departments across the organization to ensure accurate and timely completion.
Prepare financial dashboard to track KPI performance.
Prepare and distribute quarterly department expenses vs. budget, address variances with department managers, and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
Perform deep dive research and analysis and provide insights into the organization’s financial performance, including expenditures, trends, variance analysis, and project costs.
Support the monthly financial close, preparation of financial statements, and variance analysis.
Support annual financial audit/review by external auditors.
Lead and coordinate company quarterly sales review and assist sales managers on power point slides and data confirmations.
Prepare and verify inventory reports, analyze inventory turns and obsolescence, and inventory reserve analysis to support year-end reserve determination.
Assist in the annual year-end inventory physical count process.
Keep track and prepare filings for personal property taxes, business licenses and Canada GST.
Proactively identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Create and maintain SOPs for Finance Department to document key processes and procedures.
Perform ad hoc analysis, projects, and assignments to support management business decisions.
Job Skills and Requirements
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent data management skills.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Solid analytical abilities.
Bachelor’s degree and minimum two years of financial analysis or budgeting experience.
Knowledge of ERP systems, especially Oracle EBS, is preferred.
